Our Boise River is the lifeblood of the Treasure Valley. It supplies safe drinking water, supports recreational activities, and feeds wooded areas and preserves.
But just upstream in the river’s headwaters, a Canadian mining company called “American CuMo” is threatening to develop what could be the world’s largest open pit molybdenum mine. We have halted this project twice in court already, but now the imminent threat of CuMo is back.
And we continue to hold Atlanta Gold accountable for discharging arsenic into a tributary of the Middle Fork of the Boise River. The court found that Atlanta Gold violated the Clean Water Act 567 times in the past 5 years.
